Today was a lovely unproductive day. Fridays always seem like a potential goldmine of free time to do homework but it never turns out that way. Then Sunday has to compensate for Friday fun. Oh well!
I helped my friend Marissa (shout-out to my loyal blog reader) make some earrings from the beads she got at the bead store on our last adventure. They turned out so well! If I had a picture, I would put them up here. I've helped people make earrings a couple times before and it's so interesting because they are always so different from the things I make. It's great to see that with the same basic ingredients (beads and wire) people can do such creative and different things, and how everyone's mind works differently. Awesome.
On to today's earrings! I made some small earrings that I love, but I think they need to be accompanied by an explanation.
I usually finish my earrings off either a small loop, a hammered end, or a design like a spiral which I sometimes hammer. This is both to keep the bead secure and to add a little interest to the piece. Usually though, when I choose to end with a loop it is because I want to focus to fall on the beads. Today I played with this idea by hammering my loop and therefore making it part of the focus.
Love and Beads,
Eve
