Since I only had one class today I decided to go on adventures. Namely going to the hardware store to see if they restocked their welding gloves...they had not.
Defeated and without any magical heat proof gloves, I made my way through the plaza to Barnes and Noble. Going and reading beading books there has become a beloved pass time of mine. I think someday I should probably actually buy one, but I pay for a coffee and then the guilt tends to subside.
I was reading a particularly awesome earring book called The Earring Style Book by Stephanie A. Wells and I got tons of new ideas. I wanted to make sure to name drop her book because I made earrings very similar to some in her book and want to give credit where credit is due. Here are the little gems:
In the book, she embellishes frames like this gold circle with beads in a pattern. Her patterns consist mostly of columns of beads with tallest column in the middle and then tapering off on either side.
Honestly, I attempted to do it the way she did but the beads had a mind of their own. My pattern started to seriously lean to one side and all I could do was embrace it. Now that it's all said and done, I absolutely love the result.
You know how some of the best inventions were accidents? Well here's my happy accident.
Love and Beads,
Eve
