I abandoned this project two years ago because making a piece of jewelry a day became too much after 100 or so days during my senior year of college. I've done so much since then, and I just want to take a minute to share it all with you. A lot has happened in two years, let me try to catch you up.
Here's a short life update: I interned at an art gallery right after college. After that, I interned at another art gallery, then I got a job at the first one! I stayed there for a year and a half. I learned so much about how the commercial art world functions, but a few months ago I decided it was time to move on. I am now working at a nonprofit, and really enjoying it. Phew, ok, do you feel caught up?
Some fun things have happened in my jewelry-making life as well! I took an awesome silversmithing class at 3rd Ward in Brooklyn. There, I learned some awesome techniques but also learned that it takes a whole lot of tools and materials to seriously silversmith. I'd like to go back and take another class, but unfortunately I can't really use those new skills with my limited materials and space.
